Haley VandenHazel (she/her)

I specialize in supporting young adults dealing with anxiety, using a holistic approach that blends ERP, CBT, and mindfulness to help you build resilience and find real, lasting relief. I also work with people navigating depression, OCD, stress, relationship challenges, and major life transitions.

As a therapist, I bring my clinical experience to create engaging and supportive experiences that encourage personal growth and mental well-being.  I aim to create a relationship built on trust where you feel accepted and challenged to grow in new ways.

Background

In the past five years, my work has focused on treating young adults struggling with anxiety and depression. Prior to establishing my private practice, I gained valuable experience in these roles: Crisis Hotline Volunteer, Residential Counselor for an Anxiety Treatment Center, Integrated Behavioral Therapist at Concord Hospital, Clinical Assistant for a Short-Term Assessment Program for at-risk youth, Community Mental Health Counselor, School-based Clinician, and Intake Therapist for an Eating Disorder Recovery Program.

Theoretical Orientation

I take an integrative approach to therapy. I include elements of mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and committment therapy (ACT), and exposure and prevention response (ERP). I strive to understand each individual's unique worldview, values, and way of making meaning. Clients have described me as warm, insightful, compassionate, and practical.

I take a “client-centered approach” which means I honor your process and prioritize what you would like to discuss. At the same time, I ask questions aimed at deepening your reflections and provide tools/perspectives that I sense will help you. I encourage clients to engage intellectually by recommending books and podcasts. I emphasize goal setting because I believe the real work is what you do when you leave my office. I don’t pretend to have all the answers but instead help clients connect to their inner wisdom and re-establish trust with themselves.
